Après des études musicales à l'Ecole Ottorino Respighi d'Imperia, Giulio
Magnanini complète sa formation de pianiste au Conservatoire Niccolo
Paganini de Gênes et de chef de choeur au Conservatoire Giuseppe Verdi
de Turin. Il est le chef de chant et chef de choeur de différentes
productions (Nozze di Figaro, Teatro Tempo Festival 1991; Cavalleria
rusticana: Festival Spazio Musica 1993...). Depuis 1991, il dirige le choeur "Cantores bormani" d'Imperia. Il est engagé à l'Opéra de Nice en octobre 1994 comme premier assistant du chef de choeur, aux côtés de Dante Ghersi puis de Jean Laforge. En juillet 1996, il signe sa première production pour l'Opéra de Nice, La Traviata, présentée dans le cadre du Festival "Musiques au Coeur" d'Antibes. En novembre et décembre 1996, il fut chef de choeur pour Le Nozze di Figaro et pour la lXe Symphonie de Beethoven. En mars 1997, il est nommé chef des choeurs à l'Opéra de Nice par Gian-Carlo del Monaco, et depuis assure la saison lyrique et symphonique, les Chorégies d'Orange et le Festival "Musiques au Coeur" d'Antibes. Depuis juillet 2000, le Chœur de l’Opéra de Nice est régulièrement invité au prestigieux Festival d’été des Chorégies d’Orange. Giulio Magnanini a pris la direction de l’ensemble des chœurs sur la production de Carmen dirigée par Maître Chung. Déjà présent lors de l’édition 2006, à la tête des forces chorales du Festival pour une surprenante Lucia di Lammermoor aux côtés de Rolando Villazon et Patricia Cioffi, il s’est vu confier en 2010 par Raymond Duffaut la préparation de tout le choral du Mireille de Charles Gounod. En 2024, Giulio a été invité par l'Opéra National de Pekin pour diriger les choeurs pour Roméo et Juliette de Gounod. Giulio a pris le relaye à l'Ensemble Vocal Syrinx de son collègue Francesca TOSI pendant le séjour de Francesca à l'Opéra de Trieste. Giulio est également à la tête du Chœur Philharmonique de Nice et du Coro FilHarmonia di Sanremo. Ces trois chœurs collaborent régulièrement pour donner des concerts communs où un grand nombre de chanteurs est requis. |
After studying at the Ottorino Respighi music school in Imperia, Giulio
Magnanini completed his education as a pianiste at the Niccolo Paganini
conservatory in Genoa, and as a choral conductor at the Giuseppe Verdi
conservatory in Turin. He conducted numerous productions (The Marriage
of Figaro at the Teatro Tempo Festival in 1991, Cavalleria Rusticana at
the Spazio Musica Festival in 1993, ...) Since 1991 he has conducted the choir "Cantores Bormani" in Imperia, and in October 1994 he was engaged by the Nice Opera as first assistant choral director, working along side Dante Ghersi and later Jean Laforge. In July 1996 he conducted his first opera under the banner of Nice Opera, La Traviata, during the festival "Musiques au Coeur" in Antibes. In November and December 1996 he was choir director for the Marriage of Figaro and for Beethoven's 9th. In March 1997 he became choral director at the Nice Opera under Gian-Carlo del Monaco, since when he has taken charge of the lyric and symphonic season, the Choriégies at Orange, and the Musiques au Coeur festival in Antibes. From July 2000, the Nice Opera Choir has regularly been invited to the presigious Festival of Choirs at Orange. Giulio Magnanini took charge of all the choruses in the production of Carmen conducted by Maître Chung. In the 2006 Festival, Giulio directed the massed choral forces for a surprising Lucia di Lammermoor alongside Rolando Villazon and Patricia Cioffi, and in 2010 Raymond Duffaut assigned him to the preparation of the entire chorale ofGounod's opera Mireille. In 2024, Giulio was invited by the National Opera of Beijing to direct the choirs for a season of Gounod's Romeo and Juliet Giulio took over the reins of the Ensemble Vocal Syrinx from his colleegue Francesca Tosi during her secondment to the Trieste Opera. Giulio also directs the Nice Philarmonic Choir and the Coro FilHarmonia di Sanremo. These three choirs regularly collaborate to give joint concerts where a large number of singers is required. |
